EyeGlass Numbers are the results that you get from the EyeQue VisionCheck or Personal Vision Tracker. Once you complete a series of tests, you get a set of EyeGlass Numbers. EyeGlass Numbers use the same type of numbers and format as an eye prescription. You can compare your EyeGlass Numbers with your current eye prescription.

But what happens if your EyeGlass Numbers are quite different from your last eye prescription?

Know That Eye Prescriptions Can Vary

Here is a secret: there is no definitive set of numbers to correct your vision. If your EyeGlass Numbers vary by up to 0.5 diopters, your vision correction will fall in the 20/20 range. Optometrists generally consider agreement up to 0.5 diopters as acceptable. That means if you had your vision evaluated by several different Optometrists on the same day, you could receive as many slightly different prescriptions.

Different numbers for your EyeGlass Numbers and prescription? There are many reasons why.

If you have EyeGlass Numbers that vary more than this, it could be that your vision has changed enough to warrant a new set of glasses. You can even use your EGNs to order new glasses. It may also be a good time to schedule a visit to an eye doctor to see if anything else about your eyes or vision has changed. Using EyeQue devices helps you monitor vision changes between doctor’s visits.
