I cannot thank you enough for bringing a smile to my face after losing my glasses. I would have been lost without you guys. It has been a great pleasure meeting you and I’m so glad I’m able to now share my experience with everyone.

Last month, we had an excellent debut at American Academy of Ophthalmology’s (AAO) annual meeting in San Francisco.

The engagement between the crowd and our staff demonstrating our products was amazing, but one experience really brought smiles to all of our faces.

Monday, mid-show, a fellow AAO staffer at the booth adjacent to EyeQue was noticeably distressed. Our Director of Systems Engineering, Alex set out to see what the issue was. Ana Maria at the Med Learning Group booth explained, she had lost her glasses during the annual meeting and was struggling to see clearly without them.

Alex offered one of our Personal Vision Trackers and let her know she could measure her own refractive error and gather numbers to order new glasses right away. He also noted that the test does take about 30-minutes or so to self-administer. Ana Maria looked hopeful, but not enthusiastic at the idea of spending 30-minutes testing her eyes. Alex then suggested that in a conference hall full of Ophthalmic equipment, she could seek out a refractometer and get a set of numbers super-fast…and off went Ana Maria.

A little while later Ana Maria returned empty-handed.

Alex set her up with the PVT and guided her through her first test. Ana Maria successfully completed her test in minutes – then, Alex broke the news that two more tests would be necessary to ensure a good set of EyeGlass Numbers (EGNs). Ana Maria mustered up her patience and managed to generate her EGNs pretty quickly, then snapped a selfie wearing some EyeQue PDCheck frames to capture her pupillary distance. Ana Maria’s colleague Warren who lives in San Francisco mentioned that JINS on Power Street, just outside the Moscone Center, can provide glasses in about 30 minutes. So in hopefulness, with EGNs in hand, they set off. A short while later, the team noticed Ana Maria wearing both glasses and a big smile on her face. She immediately went throughout the convention center showing off her new stylish specs and encouraging others to visit EyeQue, as this was an incredible and unbelievable experience.

Noam, EyeQue’s VP of Science and Tech, couldn’t help but take advantage of the onsite use case and asked Ana Maria to take a quick visual acuity test using the EyeQue Insight while wearing her new glasses. Ana Maria’s new glasses were working great, as reported on the screen above Alex and Ana’s head pictured below:  single and dual eye performance is 20/20!  Ana Maria immediately purchased the PVT as she couldn’t wait to share her experience with her friends, family, and colleagues.
